“Sometimes you can’t see yourself clearly until you see yourself through the eyes of others.” — Ellen DeGeneres
As entrepreneurs, pivoting is not a new concept to us. It is what we do all the time when our ducks don’t seem to align. BUT, who could have known that such a high level of pivoting would be necessary in 2020? No one!
On this episode of The Entrepreneurial you, Vanessa Van Edwards talks about pivoting in during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Here is a snippet of what Vanessa shared:
“Doing anything in business without measuring is basically practice. If you’re not measuring, it doesn’t count. And what I mean by that is there’s so much to learn in business, that the only way that you’ve learned is if you track and I even think this is true with relationships, so not just revenue and sales and merchandise and distribution. For example, how many contacts did you have on LinkedIn last week, three weeks ago, three months ago? What have you done to try to increase those LinkedIn contacts? Have you converted any LinkedIn leads? Are you getting more clicks on your profile or less clicks on your profile? All of those things don’t seem important. But actually, you can discover hidden ways to revenue (if you measure them). And they’ve been the majority of our business. People do not understand how our business makes money; that is because we have found hidden ways to make revenue. When we were looking at the data, we were tracking things that were working.”
