Empowering Women: The Rise of Female Business Leaders

Talent and a dream have spawned the success story of Reve Jewellery and Accessories, makers of exquisite jewellery, locally crafted and internationally acclaimed.

Anyone who has ever come in contact with Reve Jewellery knows there is talent. If you’ve ever spoken with Teasea, you know she speaks of the dream in quite passionate ways.

In an interview with, Teasea, Director of Marketing and Operations, a few years ago for the radio edition of The Entrepreneurial You, she said this, “Duane, my brother is the Director for Concept Design and Production. He is the ‘dreamer’ and I am the ‘doer’ – a beautiful ying-yang relationship. It’s really two dreams moving into one direction”.

Dynamic Duo

The dynamic duo of brother and sister team behind this flourishing authentic Jamaican brand knows how do business. They have longevity, innovation and talent – all ‘must-haves’ for anyone even remotely considering entrepreneurship as a viable option. Duane and Teasea Bennett have long etched their mark firmly into the hearts and pockets of Jamaicans as well as visitors to the Caribbean, looking for unique quality jewellery and accessories.

Having been brought up in a family of entrepreneurs, they’ve always wanted to do that. After all, it’s what they’ve always known. It’s quite fun to stand on the sideline and watch their dream blossom into reality right before your eyes. They have been motivated to show the world what they have to offer. It’s no wonder why so many international and local stars wear Reve Jewellery with such pride. They are, without a doubt, one of the things that is right with Jamaica. It doesn’t take long for anyone to realize that they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, which is a plus for business.

They have a deep desire for doing what they do. They are not just about dollars and cents, though no doubt that is quite important. They are socially responsible, contributing to building others through service. A testament to their giving nature, they have made their cozy Devon House space home to many other talented designers, local and regional alike.

Wellness Festival

As August approaches fast, the team at Reve have their hands full with a myriad of activities. One of the highlights is their annual Reve Wellness event, happening on August 13 at Devon House. Under the theme, ‘Liv gud…give tanks‘, they have been having a series of activities leading up to the big day. This is their creative and innovative way of contributing to society as wellness is at the core of their value system. Part proceeds of the event goes to the talented Cherine Anderson’s Foundation – the Reach One Foundation (ROC). You can expect yoga, fashion show, natural hair meet up, Caribbean foods and cuisine, natural tonics and more.

As someone who believe wholeheartedly in Jamaican entrepreneurs (an entrepreneur myself), I totally endorse what they are doing. Be sure to pay them a visit and give your support.

Let me hear from you, how are you making a difference in your community?
