Show Notes

“I will tell you how to become rich. Close the doors. Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful.”

Raising capital for your startup can be a daunting task for many who have the dream of scaling fast. It is important that you get skilled in how to attract the right investors to your business.

In this episode of The Entrepreneurial You podcast, Swish shares his journey of how he went about attracting the right investors to jump on board with Trufan. Here is a snippet of what she shared on this episode of the podcast:

Networking

“Typically what we did  for the previous two years before starting Trufan, I was very much networking; I was getting out there in the community, I was meeting people. I actually interviewed a lot of foreign investors in a LinkedIn publication that I started. I wrote about their life story; I wrote about the advice they would give young people and started to build a relationship with them that way…new venture capital came on, but it was also a mix of them and angels and those angels weren’t just NBA players. They were friends and family members that we got in and got $20,000 from each of them. That’s the way that we went about preparing for the round. We deeply networked for the last three, four years.”

Hot Point: More people are likely to say yes to you interviewing them than if you ask them for coffee
