Show  Notes:

“The greatest significance is found through service.” These are not just words but the very mantra on which Nathaniel Peat lives his life.

As a black child, Nathaniel faced racial prejudice, violence and other issues could have easily waned his need to achieve. Wanting to become a pilot – without the required grades – it was sheer determination and drive that has enabled him to be the person he is today. He has learnt that when someone says no, you have to go above, beyond and around it to get ahead.

A recent conversation with Nathaniel on The Entrepreneurial You podcast reveals a lot about this Tedx Speaker. Today Nathaniel is on a mission to rid the world of energy poverty through his socially responsible commercial business venture, Gennex. Representing a both a beginning and a break-through, he is teaching people how to build their own power, literally and figuratively speaking. Issues such as respiratory problems caused by indoor cooking has caused Nathaniel to act, to create change and to “Profit with purpose’.

Nathaniel believes “it is a great feeling to move from a position of poverty to that of plenty…but it is not about affluence but influence.” His primary motivation is to fulfil his purpose, and to leave a legacy behind. When he was young the head of the Physics department gave him an opportunity. He believes that he has the responsibility to pay it forward.

“People have the ability to connect with their destiny. It is not knife and guns that kill people but mindsets.”

In his closing remarks, Nathaniel entreats us to “don’t think about competing, think like an eagle and dominate.”
