The Rhythm of Restoration: Why I Choose to Disconnect

I haven’t written to you much since December, but I haven’t been idle. This has been a season of practicing the art of being “unavailable.” Last year was a masterclass in bittersweet lessons that forced me to look closely at the architecture of my life—not just what I produce, but the relationships I hold. To do that work, I had to step back, lean into my social media sabbatical, and stay committed to shutting off everything online every Wednesday.

There is a unique clarity that comes when you stop the digital scroll and start the internal one. By silencing the world’s noise, I was finally able to hear the truth about my own life. On those offline Wednesdays, I began auditing my closest relationships—family, friendships, and inner circle. I asked hard, grace-filled questions: What do I need from these connections? What am I giving? Where is the line between service and sacrifice?

Deciding what you need from your inner circle is not selfishness; it is stewardship. When we get clear on our boundaries and our needs, we stop reacting to people and start relating to them with intention. Through this deep work, three truths emerged:

  • Presence requires Absence: You cannot be fully present for your purpose or your people if you are never absent from the noise.
  • Relationships need an Audit: It is okay to redefine your roles in family and friendships. Grace makes room for evolution and invites others to meet you in that new space.
  • The Standalone Path: As I have been developing new projects as standalone ventures, I realized I also needed to stand firmly on my own feet emotionally.

This period of silence has been the foundation for the work I am about to share. The designs, the text, and the affirmations I’ve been crafting are not just “content”—they are the fruit of a year spent choosing depth over visibility. I’m excited to share these projects with you soon. They were born from being “shut off” from the world so I could be “turned on” to my true purpose.

A Grace-Filled Challenge for You:
If you shut off the world for just one day this week, what truth about your relationships would finally have the space to surface?
