Episode Highlights

Matthew Shares His Story-

Matthews shares that he was always that kid that was trying to sell you something that you didn’t want. He mentions that he’s always had that entrepreneurial spirit, from washing cars to selling candy at school at high prices. All throughout his school years, he was naturally interested in the internet and building websites. He mentioned that at the age of 11 years old he did not have the full vision to build Youtube. Then he moved to jobs where he did supermarket and warehouse works. He ended up in the corporate world where he mentions that he had some great successes- where he was able to utilize all of his skills he acquired growing up. He shares that he was lucky to step into the corporate world with his level of web knowledge as that had been a continuous advantage for him.

How Can I Increase My Website Traffic and Increase my Sales(Identify The Problem)-

  • The first thing you need to is to find out if I have a problem- what you will need to focus on is web speed- how fast your website loads.
  • If your website is slow, it then leads to lower conversion rates, lower average order values, and lower revenue per visitor. However if your website is fast, higher conversion values and higher values for revenue generated per visitor.
  • Matthew shares that for about three years Google has made site speed a ranking factor and will improve on that in May with what is called “core web vitals update”- in other words, if your website is slow then you are going to suffer but if your website is fast then you will benefit from this.
  • He also points out that website speed is 90%-95% of the issue that websites he reviews have.
  • How to find out if you have a problem? (check our resources provide for this episode and get the direct link to the website Batch Speed)
  • Once you’ve inserted your home page into that website, it will scan your website, then use Google to tell you how you score on page speed- if your scores are under 60 you have a serious problem and are losing money every day that you do not fix it.
  • He shares the score that you actually want is a minimum of 60 and above.

How Can I Fix The Problem(s) Identified?-

  • If you have no experience on how to build a website and you know that you have this problem and want to fix it (check our resources provided for this episode and get a direct link to the website NitroPack)
  • Sign up for the service provided on this website, integrate and follow their instructions.
  • He shares that this program majority of the time will take care of your speed issues immediately- takes a total of five minutes to complete. You will immediately see increases in conversion rates, average order values, and revenue earned per visitor.
  • If you integrate NitroPack it is important that you test it afterward. So if you are new to the site it is important that you place a  test order and if you are an affiliate to the site make sure your affiliate link is working as well as if you have email forms on your site ensure that they are working after installing NitroPack.
  • He continues by adding that in about six weeks, you will then see the benefits from Google. Here’s what you should look for:
  1. If you have Google Consort set up for your website then you are one step ahead, however, if you do not have it set up you can go ahead and do so now as it is completely free. In Google Consort, there is a report called Core Web Vitals and you want all of this report to say “Good”.

What Are Most Websites Missing?-

  • Matthew shares that Google now in the last 2-3 years are looking to send traffic to people that are accountable- they want to send their traffic to real businesses and real people.
  • He shares that it is critical for websites (eCommerce, affiliates, etc.) to publish their business information in the footer, on the contact page, and on the about page. This means your registered business address along with your phone number.
  • He also mentions that on your “About Page”, you should also have a photo of you the business owner, your employees, your workshops, your office (whether physical or virtual office)
  • You should be as a business owner communicating to Google that I am in fact a real business with real people that is accountable for my website.
  • Matthew shares that this valuable information is what he sees missing from many of the websites he reviews.

About Matthew Woodward

Matthew started building websites before Google or YouTube existed – back then he was just a kid delivering newspapers before school to pay for the server. He had no idea that you could use the internet to make money.  He just loved playing video games and writing which led him to build my first website for people to share their highlight videos.
