Show Notes

I am excited to share this interview for a number of reasons:

  1. it was recorded live from Podcast Movement 2019 in the beautiful city of Orlando.
  2. I spoke with a friend who I actually met in person for the 1st time at Podcast Movement.
  3. He is a fellow Jamaican podcaster based in the US.

As a Brand Alignment Strategist, Stephen has a lot to share on the topic of personal branding. During our conversation he says:

“I realize more and more that almost in 2020, what someone finds out about you when they search for you, it’s going to leave them more or less inclined to do business with you or to hire you.

It doesn’t matter whether you are an entrepreneur or business owner or even if you are a corporate professional, you have to address your personal brand. Starting there, it is very important that we give thought to our presence online, what I call our digital footprint.

Somebody is searching. Even if you work for an employer or you are looking for a new job, a recruiter is going to be looking you up. They are going to be searching (for) you on Google and LinkedIn to see what they can find out about you. If you don’t take control of the results they are going to find, you’re going to be in hot water.”

Hot Point: when somebody Googles you, what are they finding out about you?

Please share it with a friend. Nothing helps me grow and improve the show more than personal recommendations from people who enjoy it.
